ONE WEEK IN SAN DIEGO
Looking for a week of fun in San Diego? Check out this seven-day itinerary you could enjoy during your extended stay at Best Western PLUS Island Palms Hotel & Marina.
DAY 1: LIBERTY STATION
This is your nearby one-stop shop for entertainment, shopping, and amazing eats and drinks! Located about 2.5 miles from our hotel, Liberty Station features a relaxed atmosphere filled with countless versatile food and drink options, unique shopping, and weekly live music that makes it our top pick as a first-day activity to ease your way into vacation.
DAY 2: SEAWORLD OR THE ZOO
Day two of your vacay is the perfect time to get the big attraction out of the way! You can’t go wrong with bringing your travel companions to SeaWorld San Diego or the world famous San Diego Zoo! Of course, there are more attractions to visit beyond these two. Whatever you choose, be sure to bring sunscreen and good shoes!
DAY 3: EXPLORE SHELTER ISLAND
Our very own tropical island is a day of exploration in itself! Whether you prefer to hit the Shelter Island pier and build your angler skills, rent a bike and ride around the island, or visit Shoreline Park for a picnic and play time with the kiddos, you don’t have to go far to enjoy the surrounding beauty!
DAY 4: GET OUT ON THE WATER
Sailing and boating and whale watching — oh my! In addition to the more relaxed activities we listed above, you can get your kicks directly on the water by booking a sailing, fishing, or whale-watching tour — or even a couple of stand-up paddleboards or jet skis to really get your heart racing!
DAY 5: BALBOA PARK
Enjoy countless museums, restaurants, and art to really soak in the heart of San Diego! Easily one of our favorite attractions in San Diego, Balboa Park is a must-see for a day full of informational and intriguing museums, beautiful gardens, wonderful food, and entertainment in the form of live music, ballet, plays, and more!
DAY 6: HANG OUT ON-PROPERTY
With countless on-site amenities at your fingertips, you’ll find it hard to leave! Enjoy thoughtful amenities like two swimming pools, two hot tubs, on-site dining and bar, fitness facility, and so much more right here at Island Palms!
DAY 7: POINT LOMA TIDE POOLS & CABRILLO LIGHTHOUSE
Your last day in the city should be relaxing but still eventful. Check out the natural wonders of nearby Point Loma Tide Pools and discover something new! Be sure to visit Cabrillo National Monument and Old Point Loma Lighthouse located in the same park. Both give visitors an excellent opportunity to discover some local history!
